I've met a great share of such players, who would beat their customer requesting system restarts, updates, upgrades, anything they can think of short of actually fixing their own issues. You can bet, that whenever you hear this, the problem is surely on the other end. What they want is to make you run around solving their issues. Let me tell you, after being in IT for many years this is the typical answer that is always given by a "player" who doesn't understand what he is doing, unable to help, unwilling to help, doesn't know anything. the problem is you, your system, your account, you, your dog, your browsers, not us. If you google why my yohoo is not working you get a typical scam from yahoo: No other email services (I use other 7 services) are showing any issues in any of my browsers, be it chomes or firefox browsers on several PCs that use to access email. The stupid "progress bar" dots are just running back and forth trying to resemble a progress where there is none. Any new email I open in a new tab is just a blank tab. Now, the web mail freezes every few minutes for a minute or so. Been using it for last 20 years or so, and it slowly but surely getting worse and worse.
